Finishing Equipment & Concrete Trowels in Chattanooga, Huntsville, & Nashville

Visit our showroom for finishing equipment and concrete trowels in Chattanooga, Nashville and Huntsville for your concrete needs. Concrete trowels are vital tools in quality concrete jobs to ensure a proper finish and can drastically change the surface quality. Whether you’re looking to produce a slick hard-troweled surface or a textured broom finish, the concrete trowels and other tools you may need can vary from project to project.

Bullfloat

A metal bullfloat tool with a flat, rectangular surface and rounded ends, used in concrete finishing as part of the concrete trowels process.< Click image to enlarge
A bullfloat is the first step to concrete finishing. Once the concrete is in the forms and a screed has been used to achieve the proper level, bullfloating pushes the larger aggregate deeper into the concrete and brings the finer materials in your mix to the surface. A bullfloat requires a special head to be attached to allow the user to adjust the pitch by manipulating the attached handle.

Edger

A metal edger tool with a flat, rectangular surface and a handle attachment, used to create a uniform perimeter on concrete, part of the concrete trowels process< Click image to enlarge
An edger is used to create a uniform perimeter to a concrete slab. Edgers come with varying radii and in many different sizes to accommodate different styles on the perimeter of a concrete surface. This process is primarily done at the same time or shortly after the bullfloating process has begun.

Groover

A metal groover tool with a flat, rectangular surface featuring a raised, V-shaped ridge in the middle, and a handle attachment, used for creating control joints in concrete, part of the concrete trowels process< Click image to enlarge
A groover is used to create control joints in the concrete to help control any cracks from appearing on the surface of the concrete. Groovers are sold with bits varying in size, depending upon how deep the control joint is desired to be. The grooving process is done at the same time as the edging process.

Broom

A concrete broom with a long wooden handle and black bristles, used to provide a uniform texture to the concrete surface, part of the concrete trowels process< Click image to enlarge
A concrete broom is a commonly used tool to give uniform texture to a surface as the final finish before concrete sealer is used. Generally attached to a handle, brooms come in sizes that range from 1 to 5 feet wide.

Walk-Behind Concrete Trowel

A walk-behind concrete trowel with a red frame, engine, and handle, used for finishing concrete surfaces.< Click image to enlarge
A walk-behind trowel is used for the final finish on a concrete slab. The trowel is used to harden, smooth, and densify a concrete surface. This process closes the pores and protects the surface of the concrete. The size of the trowel will vary based on the size of the slab, and is available in a 2-foot edging trowel as well as 3-foot and 4-foot walk-behind versions.

Riding Concrete Trowel

A red riding concrete trowel with a black seat and controls, used for finishing large concrete surfaces.< Click image to enlarge
A Riding Trowel is necessary when you have a large concrete surface and need to put the final finish on in a timely manner. A riding trowel will harden, smooth, and densify larger surface area than walk-behind trowels to close the pores and protect the surface of the concrete.
